Stanton Demo Recordings
This is me recording the slide take of an acoustic song on a vintage Guild through a Neumann U87. What a sound!
Some guitars (sorry guys, there will be quite some gear talk and guitar fetish in this entry).
Trying out a banjo and drums tune in the studio.
With Guild and Neumann again.
The interface we used was a firepod. Just 8 channels, but since we recorded everything separately, this was usually enough to do drums.
Bert's amp with my Peavey guitar amp (a classic 50 - 212) and Stokki's Vox in the background.
All work and no beer makes Johnny a dull boy.
The Neumann in Bert's snare case, about two meters in front of the bass drum. Gives great sub.
Nicolas Rombouts, helping us out on double bass.
Listening to a vocal track.
Daddy's Darlings live @ Eindhoven Jazz & Blues Festival
Here are some pictures from two gigs we played on the Eindhoven Jazz & Bues Festival on August 25th and 26th with the band Daddy's Darlings & the Big Bang Boys. With this band we play Andrews Sisters songs. Wanna know more? Go to www.daddysdarlings.be
Me, at the hotel in Eindhoven
Stijn, the piano player.
Bert Huysentruyt - aka Swing Master - the drummer of the band
Here's two shots from during soundcheck - in the first picture you can see Bert's drumkit and the guitars I use for this band (an Ibanez Artstar, a Fender Strat vintage reissue and a 1955 Bronson Singing Electric lapsteel). In the second picture I'm trying out some pedals: a Morley volume pedal, a Wasabi (danelectro) boost & overdrive pedal, a danelectro tremolo pedal and a Boss Chromatic tuner.
Jokke Dubois, on bass.
And two pictures of the ladies. First pic: the girl with the big smile is Ariane, the newest Darling. Second pic: Darlings Marlies asleep in the car on the way back from Eindhoven.
